“Fear Ball” Experience

ActiveCITY Collective partnered with Calgary Arts Development to offer a focused series of workshops where organizations spent months collaborating, experimenting, and building unique prototypes - focused on how to design experiences in our post-pandemic world.

After the initial prototype tested at the East Calgary Community Fair, we took it on the road to CUPS Calgary’s Indigenous People’s Day Celebration, Vivo’s Neighbour Day Activities at their Centre and their Beddington Play Hub, as well as carya’s Grand Opening of Village Commons in the East Village.

Through their Experience Design Workshops, we were able to design an activity that utilized our research and inspired our community through innovation. The game has allowed us to collect data and demonstrate our ability to promote inclusivity through a diversity of perspectives and provide 2-way conversations that promote compassion.

By the time we brought the experience to “Every Mind Matters! Youth Mental Wellbeing Expo” organized by Youth Uplifting Youth CPSG - Canadian Pakistani Support Group Association in August, our volunteers were incredibly comfortable working the questions into the activity and parents became easily engaged in conversations around mental health!

Are you interested in an activity for children in your community, while you offer adult-level programs? Are you interested in hosting a dynamic opportunity for engagement around mental health?

We would love to come to your venue and be part of the activities! Please reach out to our Chairperson for more information, via email at stacey@perlinfoundation.com.
